THE HOW
Neurotransmitters Affecting Weight Loss. Dopamine helps energize the brain and is key in allowing us to experience satisfaction. It is often known as the “pleasure hormone”. Serotonin decreases appetite by blocking hunger signals from the brain, also known as the “happiness hormone”. Low serotonin is what makes us crave sweets, boredom eating and depression. Norepinephrine is an important hormone when it comes to fat burning. It is the key regulator of fat metabolism and when released from the brain directly increases fat cell breakdown at an amplified rate.
Semaglutide
THE WHAT
Semaglutide is a glucagon-like peptide 1 agnostic. It is commonly known by its much shorter name of GLP-1 agonist. GLP-1 is a natural hormone that is produced by the gastrointestinal system to help with insulin production by stimulating the pancreas, but it can also help signal to the brain a feeling of fullness. It is designed to mimic the natural hormone of GLP-1. When it is consumed or injected, the body reacts to it as if it naturally produced the GLP-1. Semaglutide for weight loss slows the emptying of the stomach by binding to the receptors that are located in the lining of the stomach. The slower emptying of the stomach sends a signal of fullness to the brain. This helps reduce your food intake and decreases your appetite, two things that are necessary for weight loss, because you feel full and are less likely to want to eat. By combining insulin production, which encourages the body to break down foods and fats more efficiently, with the feeling of fullness that comes from the slower emptying of the stomach, you can see dramatic weight loss results with the use of Semaglutide.
THE HOW
When using Semaglutide for weight loss or weight management, it can only be administered as an injection. The injection is administered on a weekly basis. Semaglutide for weight loss is available in several doses. You will start with 0.25ml for 4 weeks and titrate up to 0.5ml for 4 weeks then increase monthly as tolerated. With the Semaglutide program, you will be monitored by our Physician who will help determine what dosage is right for you and make adjustments to your dosage on an as-needed basis. This helps you see optimum results as our programs are tailored to meet your specific needs.
Tirzepatide
THE WHAT
Tirzepatide has a greater affinity to GIP receptors than to GLP-1 receptors, and this dual agonist behavior has been shown to produce greater reductions of hyperglycemia compared to a selective GLP-1 receptor agonist. Signaling studies reported that Tirzepatide mimics the actions of natural GIP at the GIP receptor. In combination with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, Tirzepatide is used to reduce excess body weight and maintain weight reduction long term in adults with obesity or overweight adults.
Fun Fact: Over two years, Tirzepatide reduced the risk of major complications, including urgent heart failure visits, hospitalizations, increased diuretic treatment, and cardiovascular-related deaths, by 38% compared to placebo.

MCA Initial Certifications
1. Step one in the process is to register for an account with onestop.md.gov
2. Once you have created an account there, visit your email and confirm it to validate the registration.
3. Go back to the One Stop website and fill out the adult patient registration, located under the personal option. It generally only takes 5 to 10 minutes to complete. Please be prepared to upload a picture of the front and back of your government ID and take a picture of yourself to upload.
️ * Monday through Friday it generally takes 1-2 hours, and clients have been receiving an email back from them if this is completed during government business hours.
If completed on the weekend, you should see an email the following Monday by noon.
Your email should say congratulations your MCA patient registration was approved.
